Seems every position I've worked in over the past 35 years has been a stepping stone to Blue-Collar Graphics.
My high school grocery job introduced me to the retail industry and, well, work.
Post high school, along with my newly aquired ball-n-chain, my father helped us start a commercial cleaning service. Growing to nearly 20 employees, this provided valuable insight to the challenges for small businesses (particularly bookkeepping!).
Working through a technical degree in the printing industry, I first worked in a couple shipping and logistics positions before getting my first sales and marketing position as a Graphic Artist. This position provided a wide variety of sales and marketing projects while expanding my retail industry experience, working with some of the country's largest retail chains.
I also got my first taste of web technology here. Working on one of the first content management systems, I updated the company web site with various updates and announcements. At the same time, I worked with Home Depot, Ace, Sears and others to organize product data and imagery for their first internet retail sites.
Following this position, I worked at a large printing company, expanding my printing industry knowledge.
After that, I landed a spot at another lawn and garden manufacturer, but was coming to the realization that print marketing was becoming secondary to the emerging web marketing. Given the volatile job market, I set about learning some web technologies... and none too soon.
Now with a few dozen websites under my belt, combined with a solid print marketing background, I can provide a comprehensive sales and marketing package to a wide range of businesses and industries.
